ATMOS_FERA for ADE, arts & culture
ATMOS_FERA is a live audiovisual performance by Agustín Martínez Caram, created for ADE 2025 at ISO Amsterdam. Developed as part of his artistic research, the work draws on NASA’s planetary atmosphere simulations to transform real scientific data into immersive fields of light, fog, and spatial sound. Each scene unfolds like an alien horizon — unstable, uninhabitable, yet deeply visceral.
AI systems, ‘intelligent life,’ and atmospheres combine to take shape in visuals and sound, making the performance a living environment. With KIKUNO’s handcrafted sound system, ISO’s main hall becomes a shifting landscape where the audience can move, linger, and recalibrate their senses. ATMOS_FERA invites you to experience planetary atmospheres not as distant science, but as an embodied, cinematic journey at the edge of perception.
Agustín Martínez Caram is an audiovisual artist and artistic researcher working at the intersection of sound, light, and technology. Based between the Netherlands and Italy, he creates immersive environments that translate complex systems — from planetary atmospheres to artificial intelligence — into sensory experiences. His work combines modular synthesis, spatial sound, and live visuals, often developed in dialogue with scientific data and research contexts.
Agustín is a Professional Doctorate candidate in Arts + Creative at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, where his research explores how artistic practice can foster new forms of AI and data literacy. He has presented his work internationally at festivals, galleries, and research symposia, with projects ranging from site-specific installations to live audiovisual performances. www.martinezcaram.com
