SUMMARY:GUI B.B
DESCRIPTION:The Live Art Series #9 ✨🌿Saturday\, 1 NovemberWe welcome GUI B.B (@gui.b.b) with:On The Edge Of The SwampI Shot This Old Piece Of SkinI Shot It Hard My Friends🐸 A half-human\, half-amphibian faces the loss of its swamp. Memories return as screams\, rhythms\, and resonances — summoning what refuses to die.In this ninthmance\, Gui B.B embraces “amphibian drag”: a haunted interface where figures glitch\, overflow\, and dissolve into a chorus of baroque iconography\, pop culture\, and punk ritual. Between queer myth and horror fable\, the stage becomes a swampy site of disappearance\, return\, and speculative imagination: sticky\, murky\, defiantly alive. With Arnaud Rochefort-Allie (@averagesuburbanguy) \nGui B.B (@gui.b.b) is an artist based in Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang (colonially known as Montreal). She works primarily in the field of experimental performance. Conceiving performance as a practice of world-building\, Gui B.B deploys undisciplined performative statements in which theatricality\, irony\, and voice emerge as primary materials. By engaging in various forms of kinship while exploring a defiant dramaturgy of the body\, her process brings forth possible reconfigurations of dominant narratives. Through a proliferation of object-gestures\, she imagines playful “trans-fictions” — poetic narratives where a dissident mythology takes shape. \nVisuals: Javier Rodriguez (@user00000017) & Lou Buche (@loubuche) \n🌀 In collaboration with LA SERRE – arts vivants (@laserreartsvivants)Supported by Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (@lecalq)📍@isoamsterdam / Isolatorweg 17 \nGET YOUR TICKET

SUMMARY:ATMOS_FERA for ADE\, arts & culture
DESCRIPTION:ATMOS_FERA is a live audiovisual performance by Agustín Martínez Caram\, created for ADE 2025 at ISO Amsterdam. Developed as part of his artistic research\, the work draws on NASA’s planetary atmosphere simulations to transform real scientific data into immersive fields of light\, fog\, and spatial sound. Each scene unfolds like an alien horizon — unstable\, uninhabitable\, yet deeply visceral. \nAI systems\, ‘intelligent life\,’ and atmospheres combine to take shape in visuals and sound\, making the performance a living environment. With KIKUNO’s handcrafted sound system\, ISO’s main hall becomes a shifting landscape where the audience can move\, linger\, and recalibrate their senses. ATMOS_FERA invites you to experience planetary atmospheres not as distant science\, but as an embodied\, cinematic journey at the edge of perception. \nAgustín Martínez Caram is an audiovisual artist and artistic researcher working at the intersection of sound\, light\, and technology. Based between the Netherlands and Italy\, he creates immersive environments that translate complex systems — from planetary atmospheres to artificial intelligence — into sensory experiences. His work combines modular synthesis\, spatial sound\, and live visuals\, often developed in dialogue with scientific data and research contexts. \nAgustín is a Professional Doctorate candidate in Arts + Creative at Hanze University of Applied Sciences\, where his research explores how artistic practice can foster new forms of AI and data literacy. He has presented his work internationally at festivals\, galleries\, and research symposia\, with projects ranging from site-specific installations to live audiovisual performances. www.martinezcaram.com \n\ndoors at 19:00\nOpening act: DJ Dante\n\niso is a collaborative working arena that combines a public programme with performances\, workshops\, screenings\, lectures\, and music events. An ever-evolving stage for the (inter)national cultural community – www.isoamsterdam.nl \nKIKUNO speakers are handcrafted in Amsterdam by Yuji Tsutsumida\, a Japanese sound engineer who has worked in many acoustic spaces around the world. His philosophy is simple\, organic sound\, which is natural and true to the original\, has the power to stir emotion\, to excite and to inspire – www.kikuno.nl \nAccessibilityISO is wheelchair accessible and equipped with fully accessible toilets. ♿💙 \nGET YOUR TICKET

SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:Our Amsterdam Art Week event GOODNIGHT is slowly approaching\, promising a prefect context for visitors to familiarise themselves with some of the great creators working at ISO. For our collaboration with Amsterdam Art Week\, we also took the opportunity to include a segment of The Live Art Series\, for which we’re thrilled to present the audiovisual performance Non-User-Friendly by ISO resident Sondi! \nDuring GOODNIGHT\, Sondi will kick off the captivating night programme with her audiovisual performance Non-User-Friendly\, exploring the boundary between what is recognised as human and what is refused as noise\, error\, or excess. The work investigates the violence of systems that ask us to “prove” our humanity. Sondi contextualizes this confrontation with the logic of CAPTCHA\, or the “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart” – a familiar security measure known as challenge-response authentication. As the fantasy of “user friendliness” unravels with this very measure\, the opacity of humanness is challenged by addressing it as a crudely flat category. Non-User-Friendly approaches this tension in a conversation with a  virtual assistant bot modelled after the artist\, who addresses its creator and the public with the phrase “are you human?” \nSondi’s work offers visions for worldbuilding against dominant constructs mediated through digital interfaces. During Non-User-Friendly she will guide a dialogue mirroring the context of us interrogating motives of digital constructs and digital constructs interrogating us; a live VJ setting where sound and visuals enmesh in a hyperreal world while the bot begins to take over\, creating a wake of uncanny traces left by smooth operations\, glossy surfaces\, and by her words uttered. Drawing from Sylvia Wynter’s formulation of “the human as praxis” and inspired by the invasive absurdity of CAPTCHA logic\, the performance reclaims the moment of verification as a site of rupture. Which kind of humanity should one prove to possess? As market forces rule the principles of technological development\, ideals of just\, equal worldmaking rarely make it to the forefront\, when it desperately needs to. In these exploitative spaces\, what dialogues should we instigate with nonhuman agents in the first place? \nJoin us on the 24th of May to experience the AV performance by Sondialongside a full day & night of celebration and art:17:00-22:00 Open Studios by ISO residents\, and installation by Sophia Bulgakova22:00-22:30 Audiovisual Performance by Sondi 22:30-05:00 DJ sets by BARROSKINI (live visuals by Sondi)\, DIORA\, Krai and Tyrrfon€12 tickets are required after 21:00 for Sondi’s performance and the afterparty which can be bought from the button below  \nSondi (she/her) is an artist and researcher from Germany\, born in Cameroon and based in the Netherlands. Her practice centers on worldbuilding and worlding\, particularly within digital spaces and video games. She explores the politics of representation in virtual environments—examining encoded biases\, game mechanics\, and the portrayal of people\, places\, and ecologies—while crafting worlds that foreground marginalized voices and perspectives often excluded from our techno-futures. Sondi builds these worlds primarily through immersive 3D videos engineered with game engines\, continuously moving through virtual and physical spaces to reflect on the interplay between our corporeal\, spiritual\, and digital selves. Her body of work spans a wide range of mediums including game design\, audiovisual performance\, theatre\, music\, film\, and education. Through speculative practices and critical play\, she imagines virtual worlds as spaces for healing\, resistance\, and collective dreaming. \nGet your ticket \n \n \n \n \n \n Read more\n This event is supported by the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) and Bureau Broedplaatsen\, City of Amsterdam \n* Wheelchair accessible \nVisuals by Javier Rodriguez

SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:For 2024’s final iteration of The Live Art Series\, ISO is excited to invite Mette Sterre to host a transformative evening operating from an intersectional queer feminist perspective. Mette Sterre is a Dutch artist creating performance\, sculpture\, installation and video in an effort to investigate notions of materiality\, perception and intuition at the edges of the (non)human body. Her performances and sculptures feature hand-made\, labor-intensive “body-masks” and props that utilize elements of folkloric and carnivalesque traditions of temporary autonomous spaces\, myths\, and legends in a playful way. \n‘Mette Sterre Estafette Cabarette – invasion and multiplication in the reaction of the host issues’ is a performance situated in the dimension of embodied dissonance\, that brings together the deconstruction of human certainties philosophically – and doing so in a disorientating and colorful way. The evening promises a playful visual and sonic escape from fixed definitions\, a meeting point of machines and monsters\, hybrids and cyborgs\, the organic and the inorganic… and always pertaining to the artist’s motto: “improve\, improvise”. For The Live Art Series\, Sterre takes us on a journey towards intimacy with new assemblages\, a tentacular entity interrogating binarisms\, and altogether transpiring as an amalgamation of ecstasy\, beauty\, fear and abjection. The show is performed together with Peter Cripps Clarks and Artemise Ploegaerts. \nYou’re invited to join us for ‘Mette Sterre Estafette Cabarette – invasion and multiplication in the reaction of the host issues’ on Friday\, 6th of December 2024. Doors open at 20:30. performance starts at 21:00. SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Solari\, performer\, artist\, and musician at ISO on Friday 15th of November\, where she will present Everything is boiling (Everywhere and all day long). This intense solo performance explores themes of transformation\, societal roles\, and identity through sound\, language\, movement\, and visual art. Everything is boiling is a re-activation of her character Fulmine\, a solo project the artist has been showcasing since 2023 in which she writes\, composes\, and directs sound performances. It is a mythology born the day Solari was (literally) struck by a lightning on stage. The name of the project: Fulmine comes from Latin and means in Italian: lightning and in French (from the verb fulminer): to explode\, to get angry\, to shout… such power and impact will soon take over the main hall of ISO in a melting Italian dialect monologue. \nRebecca Solari (1996\, Bieno\, CH) is a trans-disciplinary artist from Ticino who lives in Bienne. She obtained a master’s degree within the Dirty Art Department at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. Her practice navigates between performance\, video\, music\, curation\, installation and is based on self-representation\, on the desire to destroy pre-established codes and explore social\, gender and contextual identities in a specific researched field of life and action. Rebecca Solari is a member of the electro-punk duo Crème Solaire (CH) and the music/performance project Fulmine (NL). \nFor this special evening\, we are partnering up with Young Stedelijk for their 10 year anniversary. They will be hosting the afterparty kicking off at 22:00 featuring an electrifying lineup including UNAUNA & KITT\, Cinnaman\, Willem Feltzer and YoungWoman. Find more information about Young Stedelijk’s anniversary event here \nYou’re invited to join us for Everything is boiling (Everywhere and all day long) on Friday 15th of November 2024. DESCRIPTION:ISO is excited to announce a special showcase for Museumnacht\, featuring the work of artist Eloy Cruz del Prado. We are honoured to present his latest project\, produced during his recent residency at Centrale Fies. Join us as we discover Good Job\, Good Boy II\, a new chapter in his performative work\, shaped by his time at this renowned residency. \nGood Job\, Good Boy II is a solo performance that delves into the themes of intimacy\, imagination\, family structures\, and class difference. By gathering personal recollections of youth\, queer desire\, and rural life\, the work explores an ongoing quest for validation\, within the context of labor. Combining auto-fiction and repetition\, the work dissects the mechanisms that shape our sense of self-worth\, identity\, and social belonging. The representation of three characters\, (the grandfather\, the mule\, and the author himself) compose an examination of how personal experiences intersect with larger societal structures and shared narratives. Eloy Cruz del Prado (b.1992\, Cenicientos\, Madrid) is a visual artist and performer based in Amsterdam. Holding both a BA and MA in Fine Arts and Design\, his practice spans mainly performance\, installation\, video\, or sculpture. \nYou’re invited to join us for Good Job\, Good Boy II on Saturday 2nd of November 2024.Doors open at 19:00 with guided tour of ISO\, specially for Museumnacht. SUMMARY:24 Uur Nieuw-West
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to continue our programme The Live Art Series\, dedicated to showcasing performances. For our 4th iteration\, we are delighted to host Lorena Solís Bravo at our performance space\, who explores the concepts of darkness and metamorphosis through research on myths and moths\, challenging conventional perceptions and proposing alternative ways of understanding our relationship with nature and change. Situated against a culture fixated on progress and clarity – primarily advanced by the Western episteme – ‘myth\, moth\, mother’ dives into the theme of darkness\, and questions its position as a negative realm where humans merely sleep and fear the unknown. Rejecting this framing\, Solís Bravo focuses on nocturnal creatures to lead us to an unlit but insightful zone for reconsidering our place in nature and the rules that govern the formation of our knowledge paradigms\, so often set up against a mutual relationality with the world; an imaginary space where humans can coexist harmoniously with other species\, fostering equality among diverse life forms by embracing a become with them. \nYou’re invited to join us for ‘myth\, moth\, mother’ on Saturday 12th of October 2024 – In partnership with 24 Uur Nieuw-West \nDoors open at 20:30. performance starts at 21:00. Music and drinks will follow up after the show.Tickets for the event are €12 and can be bought from the button below. \nGet Your Ticket \n \n \n \n \n \n read more\n Shot in the Peruvian Amazon\, the film elucidates the dim landscape of moths as a vehicle for transformation. Solís Bravo utilizes several image-making technologies related to science in the making of this film that add depth to the possibilities of a digital camera: An electron microscope\, a thermal camera\, camera traps and Micro CT-Scanners. All this to further access the unseen. For The Live Art Series #4 the artist will present a performative iteration of ‘myth\, moth\, mother. It is a sequential triptych that initiates a dialogue between both analogue and digital perspectives. Firstly\, the evening begins with a screening of an 18 minute film shot in 4k\, coupled halfway with the artist’s reading of their text reflecting on cosmologies of the region\, and lastly the presentation and screening are joined by an analogue 16mm work to lead the narration into conclusion – all in light of conjuring the spirit of mutability in the illumination of the bountiful nonhuman vantage point. \nVisuals by Lou Buche and Javier Rodriguez \nThe Live Art Series is supported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) and Bureau Broedplaatsen (City of Amsterdam)

SUMMARY:Octave Rimbert-Rivière
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Unseen\, ISO hosts the third iteration of their homemade performance programme “The Live Art Series”\, with a presentation of Infusion by Octave Rimbert-Rivière. This new production of the sculptor and ISO resident unfolds as an audiovisual symphony\, where psychedelic tableware morph into sprawling landscapes and living creatures. For one night these ceramic works come alive with live music and 3D video animations\, blending sound and visuals in an experimental synthesis. Crafted partly using digital tools\, these objects take a return route to their design stage\, now with a new spirit as their translation to the screen as an audio-visual experience suggest a multi-layered nature of their objecthood. Infusion relocates the twisted surface play of Rimbert-Rivière’s craft for this singular event\, by initiating digital space and sound to become the principal agents for framing\, further allowing his objects to carry out their obstructive mutability. \n‘Infusion’ by Octave Rimbert-Rivière\nFriday\, 20th of September 2024\nDoors Open at 20:30\nPerformance starts at 21:00 \nhttps://shop.eventix.io/4427b52a-c564-11ec-b3c4-9e36bf7d673e/tickets?shop_code=dxdqqcxq \nVisuals by Lou Buche and Javier Rodriguez \nThe Live Art Series is supported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) and Bureau Broedplaatsen (City of Amsterdam)\n \n \n \n \n \n Read more \n Rimbert-Rivière\, known for his method of marrying ceramics and new technologies\, transforms quotidian and functional items such as cups into a state expressive of morphing digital worlds. Infusion is a performance that forsakes the tactile medium of the already off-center ceramics of the artist. With a slightly tongue-in-cheek approach\, the artist flirts with the imaginative and perverse world of advertisements: an enchanted\, seductive display\, activated by the close-up\, glosses layers of the real into the realms of the hyperreal\, as a transcendental apparatus sets in to narrate the form and function of an item. Not shying away from this fantastical gaze\, Rimbert-Rivière’s performance will inquire further into the stage at which a magnified object becomes a mystified artifact. When does the object move from the everyday to the exceptional? And how has the digital realm further advanced the exceptional to become an everyday affair? Interlaced with an immaterial aura\, the ceramic works of the Rimbert-Rivière will this time invite space itself to provide a narrative for them\, allowing it to gather\, harbor\, let go\, and change meaning as it territorializes them anew. \nInfusion is object-oriented yet forsaking any orthodoxy on the presence of a sculptural object. It is an invitation to be in flux with changing tones\, advanced as a live music experience played by Rimbert-Rivière himself\, Jonathan Castro and Javier Rodriguez\, and with visual programmation by Guillaume Roux. Composing affect will occur on this collaborative night and it will sound out the ebb and flow of a multi-media chimera that dances between essence and expression\, through the framing of space and the passing of time. \n Born in 1988\, Octave Rimbert-Rivière graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon (FR) in 2013 and from the Sandberg Instituut (Amsterdam\, NL) in 2020. As a sculptor\, he looks for a tension between craftsmanship and new technologies. He’s interested in the perversion of design and craft\, and how to experiment with a type of directed malfunction of technology to create functional sculptures. Currently he is working in Amsterdam at ISO\, a collective studio and exhibition place. His work has been shown internationally in numerous exhibitions including From Transhumance to South Perspectives at Rowing\, London (UK)\, Le secret des moules at Bikini\, Lyon (FR)\, Between Raw Vegetables and Peace Terms at Galerie der HFBK\, Hamburg ( DE)\, Raffineries in Moly Sabata\, Sablons (FR) or Brekekex in Treize\, Paris\, amongst participating in multiple group shows. In 2022 he obtained the Stimuleringsfonds Talent Development research grant and has been selected by the Sandberg Instituut to be part of the Fellowship Program in the Materiality category.

SUMMARY:"Noise songs for a ten year marriage anniversary"
DESCRIPTION:After an unforgettable launch event during Amsterdam Art Week\, The Live Art Series resumes on July 12th! For the second occurrence of the series Kitty Maria & Elise Ehry present “Noise songs for a ten year marriage anniversary” – an evening consisting of two parts\, firstly with a work commemorating a full decade of artistic collaboration between Kitty Maria and Elise Ehry\, and secondly continuing with a spotlight on Kitty Maria’s solo work. “Air Tonalities” by Kitty Maria & Elise Ehry is a continuation of the duo’s longterm project embodying the figure of unemployed air hostesses. For The Live Arts Series the two artists present an experimental music performance. “Notes on Performance” by Kitty Maria was originally produced in a sugar factory that explores a new playful relationship between machine and operator. Without the machines being present the artist calls upon them with the use of the (side) products of the machines\, such as smoke\, plastic foil\, yarn and relationality to create a wedding-like scene. \nDoors open at 20:30; performances 21:00; afterparty 22:30 \nThe Live Art Series is supported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK).  \nGet Your Ticket \n \n \n \n \n \n READ MORE\n Programme: \n“Air Tonalities” by Kitty Maria & Elise EhryElise Ehry and Kitty Maria work as unemployed air hostesses\, wearing their self-made uniforms while being permanently off-duty. The first female flight attendant was employed in 1930 to both serve and appease passengers with a maternal and groomed presence. Within her role and appearance\, she had to portray a gentle negotiating power to calm people down through a terrifying and unnatural new way of traveling. Since the beginning of their collaboration in 2014\, Kitty and Elise have kept unfolding the figure of the hostess and the ways in which she can retire from duty. This withdrawal from “duty” signified a broader resistance towards the historical interweaving of gender and labour\, and specifically the mystification of the female sexe for commercial purposes\, stripping her of her own desires to be of service to others. “Air Tonalities” is a series within the duo’s air hostess practice that investigates air as an artistic medium to create form and sound. By layering the sounds of their handcrafted clay instruments\, DIY electronic circuits and the service workers’ voice they produce uncanny jingles and noise songs. \n“Notes on performance” by Kitty MariaNotes on performance was originally produced in an old sugar factory turned museum in Zeeland (NL). In this peromance three performers have an intimate encounter with the out of duty machines and offices of the industrial museum. They use strings of thought from Object Oriented Ontology to find ways for a person to meet a machine without the specific desire to control it. It’s an emancipation of the relationship between machine and operator. The performers wear hand-knitted outfits\, referring to the fashion trend on social media platforms such as instagram where small makers are selling their hand-knitted “amateur” outfits. Garments are often intentionally poorly made or ‘distressed’ appearing as if falling apart – a cutified contemporary punk movement in which stitches are intentionally dropped to break away from the polished world that industrialisation has brought us.  \nKitty MariaKitty Maria’s (Ottersum\, 1992) practice explores performance as an historic tradition in the arts\, and performance as an industrial norm; the use of the body as a medium of expression and the use of the body for work. In her projects she regularly intervenes in companies or stores\, to construct scene’s on the shop floor that interrupt the daily ideology of labor. Kitty Maria lives and works in Amsterdam. She obtained her MFA at the Sandberg Institute in the Dirty Art Department where she met Elise Ehry and started developing the unemployed air hostesses project. \nElise EhryElise Ehry (France\, 1991) is a Paris-based designer and casual performer. She is interested in the way clothing alters social relations between individuals and questions the performative potential that lies between the work uniform and the stage costume. Since 2014\, she has been operating as an unemployed air hostess in close collaboration with Kitty Maria where they deconstruct notions of gender and invisible labor in the service industry. Elise Ehry obtained her MFA at the Sandberg Institute in the Dirty Art Department where she met Kitty Maria and started developing the unemployed air hostesses project.

SUMMARY:STINA FORS\, A STRANGE NIGHT
DESCRIPTION:Especially for the Amsterdam Art Week\, we are overjoyed to announce the launch of our new performance programme “The Live Art Series”\, a momentous occasion marking the debut of our new event space. This festivity promises to be an extraordinary experience\, featuring A Strange Night made of music and performances by Stina Fors. During the course of the evening\, the artist will present her piece\, “A Mouthful of Tongues\,” while also delighting the audience with a concert featuring her band\, STINA FORCE. \nWith a certain taste for the absurd and strange\, Stina Fors (b.1989\, Sweden)\, choreographer and performance artist crafts unique\, once-in-a-lifetime performances. As a self-taught drummer and shocking vocalist\, Fors tours with her one-woman-punk-band\, STINA FORCE\, a band that is constantly under construction. Extended ventriloquism and overtone screams can both be seen and heard in her recent work\, “A Mouthful of Tongues\,” – a magic show where the voice appears detached from the performer’s body. Her work is packed with tension\, humor\, and raw power. Additionally\, she imparts her knowledge\, teaching techniques to produce extreme voices like death growls without vocal damage. Stina studied choreography at the SNDO (School for new dance development in Amsterdam)\, she is currently based in Vienna. \nSupported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) \nDoors Open: 20:30\, Performances: 21:00\, Afterparty: 22:30 \nGet Your Ticket \n \n \n \n \n \n READ MORE\n In “A Mouthful of Tongues\,” we encounter a hostess\, in cowboy boots and a suit. Her aim: to engage the audience for a pleasant time. Thirteen tongues spill from her mouth\, guttural screams fill the air. While her body is composed\, the voice seems to come from a distance or another source. This ventriloquist act\, throwing off the voice\, welcomes the many-tongued human. Hidden in her pockets\, notes suggest removing of tongues if screams arise. Oscillating between humor and darkness\, this performance plays tricks that appear to defy natural laws. \nSTINA FORCE is a one-woman-punk band who simply has to be experienced live. No recordings of her music exist and no two performances are ever the same\, with everything unfolding in the moment. And in those moments there is no escape. With improvised voice experiments\, grotesque monologues and the raw beating of the drums\, she first pins her audience Forcefully to the wall\, then has it eating out of her hand. Toying deftly with a stable and unstable state\, Stina Force’s performances are tension-filled\, full of wit\, and power-packed with nerve-racking energy. \nJoin us as we come together to revel in the vibrant atmosphere of our transformed venue\, showcasing the essence of creativity and community. This evening symbolises not only a new chapter for us but a shared celebration of art\, innovation\, and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.

They work as a performance director\, a drag transformer and a writer\, playing with drag aesthetics in different formats (editorial\, club\, theatre) to create queerophantasmic narratives. Over the past years SasaHara has developed a long-term research project on the making of queer mythologies\, the vectors of mythological communication and multimedia storytelling. This research has been gathered under the title “SasaHara Past Lives”\, taking their body as a catalyst for untold queer stories and giving them a space to exist in for eternity through mythological storytelling \n\n\n\nLine-up & timetable: \n22:00 – 23:00 HYPOXIA NERVOSA\n23:00 – 00:00 FKINTWIGS\n00:00 – 01:00 DJ Fluffie\n01:00 – 02:00 Varloc & PxSSYPAPI\n02:00 – 03:00 jujulov3\n03:00 – 04:00 Snufkin \n  \n\n\nFind the ticket link for the rave here \n  \n\n\nThe door will be handled by the one and only interdimensional postgender clownery Silly Dick. Please note that this is a queer event. If you are not part of the LGBTQIA+ community\, we expect you to be particularly mindful of the space you are entering and the people around you. SUMMARY:PASTLIVES x SASAHARA
DESCRIPTION:Opening/Performance: September 13th\, 21:00 – Free entrance \nMordorkore’s fantasy rave: September 17th\, 22:00 – Find the ticket link for the rave here \nExhibition on view until October 1st\, 2022 \nPASTLIVES is the second solo-show of the Amsterdam-based artist SasaHara\, who collaborates with a team of queer artists to give physicality to their mythological storytelling works. The exhibition will take place in ISO Amsterdam\, as part of the off-program of UNSEEN Amsterdam. \nOver the past years SasaHara has started long-term research on the making of queer mythologies\, the vectors of mythological communication and multimedia storytelling. This research has been gathered under the title “SasaHara Past Lives”\, taking their body as a catalyst for untold queer stories and giving them a space to exist in for eternity through mythological storytelling. For this research they reconnect with the theater background  gathered during their youth\, and activate it through the drag-transformism craft they have developed since then\, in combination with text writing\, performance direction and collaborating with other artists.  \nPASTLIVES is an immersive theater project in the format of an exhibition. The scenography of the theater-work remains after the show to constitute an exhibition that will stay for a few days. This is the second step of the research they are currently conducting around queer mythologies. This research is based on their writing of myths depicting queer narratives through fantasy literature\, then the making of the characters through their drag art\, and eventually collaborations with other artists to document each story through other mediums. In PASTLIVES\, they want to develop a new type of theater experiment\, where all the stories would connect into one immersive theater format. It will be the presentation of a meta-story through a multimedia theater work. During this immersive piece\, the public will sometimes watch videos\, sometimes listen to audio works\, and eventually watch performers act\, with the objective to knit these stories together into a meta-mythology of queerness. \nPASTLIVES is a collaboration between SasaHara and Ramzart\, Patrick Schmatzer\, Rozy Sapelkine\, jujulov3 and Basse Stittgen \nFor more about SasaHara’s work: \nhttps://sasahara.nl/  \nhttps://www.instagram.com/the.sasahara/  \nWith the support of the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK)

SUMMARY:PETROLUX x KÉVIN BRAY
DESCRIPTION:Petrolux\, a performance by Kévin Bray: 21:30 \nAfterparty with Teki Latex\, jujulove\, SasaHara and Mariana Jurado Rico: 22:30 \nDoors open at 20:30 / Free access before 22:00 \nTickets \nAfter 22:00€12 via online€15 at the doorsHalf goes to Uzvar KABK Collective\, a student initiative to support Ukraine \nFor Amsterdam Art Week\, ISO Amsterdam is thrilled to invite Kévin Bray to introduce his most recent project ‘Petrolux’. Developed through out a residency period in AlUla\, Saudi Arabia\, Bray’s latest visual gesture is a performance bridging the past and the present through  the lens of science and fiction. Petrolux is an active collaboration with the artists of ancient petroglyphs carved on the boulders of AlUla thousands of years ago. This time-bending dialogue between them\, aims to highlight how scientific tools and theories which are specifically used to get closer to possible historical truths can also help us to create more believable fictions. The fictions of today – as surreal as they can be – are often built with a certain level of scientific realism for the imaginary world to be comprehensibly rooted. \nWith the support of the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n read more \n For example\, a fictional character will have a logical or recognisable bone structure and muscular system to help us understand the reality of its existence. Starting from this premise\, through a research embedded in the development of the relationship between humans and the natural world\, the artist is borrowing engravings of dogs and cattle appearing on the desert stones in order to reinterpret them with the help of contemporary technologies and scientific knowledge. By doing so\, he is crafting present-time resonances that echo with the depths of our past (fictions). Similarly to the ways which scientists try to breathe life into the ‘rigorous systems’ of our history. This project has been developed within the artist-in-residence programme of the Sigg Art Fondation in AlUla (Saudi Arabia)\, on the invitation of Sacha Guedj Cohen in January-February 2022. \nKévin Bray (b.1989 France) is a visual generalist and artist currently based in Amsterdam. \nHe was an artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam (2018-2019) and holds two Graphic Design Masters degrees\, one from Sandberg Institute (2011-2013) and from ESAAB Nevers (France) (2009/2011). His work has been exhibited internationally in various locations such as Palais de Tokyo\, Paris (FR)\,  FOAM photography museum\, Amsterdam (NL)\, Dordrecht museum (NL)\, Future Gallery in Berlin (DE)… Traversing from cinema\, graphic design\, illustration\, painting and sculpture to music and writing\, within his practice Kévin Bray tries to understand how the form and language of a particular medium is visualised and manipulated\, in order to impose those codes onto another medium. With this methodology\, his interest lies in playing with the porosity created through the confrontation of these tools and the mannerisms they are dealt with\, aiming to open and diversify a language through exploring the edges of its possibilities. With his images Bray blends and conceptualises the parameters of these expressions to assemble symbolic narratives\, commenting on our diverse existences and the appearances they embody. \nSince the very beginnings of ISO\, Kévin has been a ‘pillar’ of our industrial creative warehouse. He was one of the first studio renters\, the first artist exhibited in 2017 and he co-created our visual identity\, realising our DNA film that can be viewed on the website of ISO. \nKévin’s lecture and performance will be followed by a gathering sonically hosted by Teki Latex and jujulove. DJ\, King of Blends\, Rinse FM & Rinse France resident and host for Boiler Room France\, co-founder of cult labels Sound Pellegrino & Institubes\, former TTC member\, creator of defunct DJ video broadcast ‘Overdrive Infinity’\, Teki Latex does it all. jujulove is a world builder\, a witch\, a rave elf\, an oracle… Inspired by feminist science fiction\, manga\, pop culture and fantasy\, she opens parallel worlds at 170bpm. jujulove aka Juliette Lizotte is a video maker\, designer and DJ based between Amsterdam and Brussels. SasaHara (b. 1993\, Paris) will open their studio and dive in their drag transformation process and storytelling works. They will then roam the warehouse in their Angry Sylvan character (outfit by Rozy). Mariana Jurado Rico (b. 1991\, Bogotá) will facilitate a point of merger between people\, to launch her billboard Such is Life in the Tropics on the northern facade of iso\, made in collaboration with Trabajajajar. During this second part of the evening\, Teki Latex & jujulove’s music set will be accompanied by video works made by the graphic design students of the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague)\, where Kévin Bray has been a teacher for the past 8 years. \nAcknowledgments: Alexandra Martens Serrano\, Florence Parot\, Javier Rodriguez\, Juan Bravo\, Gwion Lopez\, Lino Thijsen\, Nina Folkersma\, Martina Halsema\, Efrayim Sener\, Rieke Vos\, Kim Tuin\, Stefan Prokop\, Sacha Guedj Cohen\, Elina Tapio\, Aurélien Lepetit\, Dajo Bodisco\, Benaiah French\, Luna Konings\, Mateusz Juras\, Patrycja Fixl\, Lou Buche\, Virginie Gauthier\, Alexis Bondoux\, Guillaume Roux\, Noah Cohen\, Natacha Mankowski and André Morel de Malherbe \nWith the support of Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK)
