YOUNG BOY DANCING GROUP
We are thrilled to welcome YOUNG BOY DANCING GROUP to ISO Amsterdam, on the initiative of the Dirty Art Foundation. The collective will present a piece with six performers, inaugurating ISO’s new space at Isolatorweg 15, located next to the current ISO.
Experimental dance collective YBDG was initiated in 2014 as a mercurial performance group. Their site-specific live work is characterised by intense and genre-defying physical performances that blur the lines between dance, sculpture and ritual. Their work has been described as “immersive studies in physical intensity, sensuality, and extreme absurdity” by Spike Magazine. Their object-based practice draws from the distinctive costuming, staging and physicality of their live performances, standing as relics, remnants, witnesses and snapshots of past exertion and collective moments.
